Ian Kenney

family reunion
picking up our resentments
where we left them

tight connections
one last round
at the airport bar

autumn sunlight
the dust
on my running shoes

gum tree
full of chatty cockatoos
I listen for my name

(South Australia, April 2023)

Saturday morning rain
all that yardwork
will have to wait
